Homeowners in South Florida are not taking the chance of losing their homes lightly. A good turn out in the blistering heat at John Prince Park in Lake Worth (Palm Beach County) proves that there is hope for them. The American Community Homeownership Foundation, a member of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition had HUD referred qualified foreclosure and mortgage counselors on site and in conjunction with Nationwide Home Relief Law Group, was able to show homeowners their options to retain their homes. As President Obama has declared June 11, the National Day of Action and June also being National Homeownership Month; this rally and event was perfectly timed. The American Community Home Ownership Foundation and Nationwide Home Relief Law Group is truly providing a service that is desperately needed by every homeowner that may be in jeopardy of losing their home, not only in Florida but throughout the USA.

Foreclosure filings surpassed 3 million in 2008, setting a record that has Washington, D.C., policymakers calling for more aggressive efforts this year to aid troubled homeowners. Foreclosures last year were up 81% from 2007 and 225% from 2006, according to a report out today from RealtyTrac. A US Congresswoman tried to help three different home owners to modify their mortgage. As usual, the banks did not even help the US Congresswoman. She was put through several layers of people and made no progress to help these home owners.
